About Us

Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET), established in 1989 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, was inaugurated on 20th December 1991. It serves as an international podium for developing and transferring technical competence in academics. As an autonomous institution funded by the Government of India and managed by the SLIET Society, it offers Certificates, Diplomas, Undergraduate, Postgraduate degrees, and Ph.D. programmes, all recognized by AICTE, New Delhi. SLIET emphasizes practical industry training and entrepreneurship to upgrade the skills of the unemployed and working population. The institute, situated on a picturesque 451-acre campus provided by the Punjab Government, boasts extensive facilities and amenities. Its history includes the introduction of Certificate and Diploma programmes in 1991, Degree programmes in 1993, and attaining Deemed to be University status in 2006.
